The Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 ranking of Azerbaijan noticeably increased from 69th to 58th in 2019

 

The Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 rank of countries is an overall result of the set of 12 pillars of indicators. The Global Competitiveness Index 4.0 is a statistical product of the World Economic Forum. In 2018 Azerbaijan ranked 69th out of 140th countries. However, in 2019, Azerbaijan considerably increased to 58th out of 141th ahead of countries such as Greece, South Africa, Turkey, Croatia, India, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Argentina, Ukraine, Algeria, Iran, etc.

Particular attention should be paid to the indicators such as institutions, skills (education), infrastructure, where Azerbaijan ranking jumped to 49th from 58th; to 48th from 54th; to 38th from 48th, respectively.
