Hello. I am Kim Myung Jung from Busan, Korea. I studied in the Finance Department Dong-A University in Busan.  My area of interest was finance, and at Dong- A University I studied the world economy, stocks, insurance, money and similar things.  
Why did I decide to come to Azerbaijan?
In fact, I have never heard about Azerbaijan until the day I watched a football match between Azerbaijani and Korean football clubs.  At that time, I searched about Azerbaijan, where it is located, which languages are spoken here and so forth. I became curious about this country and wanted to visit Baku. Last winter I went on a trip to Azerbaijan with my friends. I had many good memories and met amazing people here. 
Currently I am taking the Azerbaijani language course at Azerbaijan University of Languages. I am eager to learn about Azerbaijani culture, history, and language. After going back to my country, I will tell people about this country and share tips for studying here. I believe, in this way more and more people will know about Azerbaijan in Korea, and our countries will have even closer relations in the future. I hope many people will visit Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis will visit our country too.  
 

My name is Kifah Gibraltar Bey Fananie, and I come from Indonesia. I finished Darussalam Gontor Islamic Boarding school in Indonesia. Currently I am taking Azerbaijani language course at Azerbaijan University of Languages.  I plan to study International Relations at AUL, but before starting this program I am supposed to take the language preparation course. I speak in 3 languages: English, Arabic, and Indonesian. Happy to be a part of AUL!

In 2009, I had the privilege of visiting Baku for three months through an internship run by the cultural studies department of my University.  It was not my first time traveling to another country; in fact, I had already visited four countries other than my native land of the United States.  However, my short time in Azerbaijan had such a profound influence on me that I adjusted my final year of studies to incorporate a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) program in order to be able to return as an English Instructor.  I was able to return in 2014 together with my wife to teach at a language institute.  At the end of our stay, we left with the hopes of returning one day. 

During a recent visit earlier this year, I was introduced to the Azerbaijan University of Languages by a friend who studies there.  He recommended the University as a great place to learn Azerbaijani.  Since that time, my goal has been to study at the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

What stands out to me most from my first trip to Baku in 2009 was how hard it was to leave.  I stayed for only three months, but during that time I was able, with the help of a local tutor, to learn Azerbaijani language.  It was agonizing to think that I would leave, having just begun the process of being able to communicate.  Furthermore, my visit had opened my eyes to the music and culture of Azerbaijan, and I was intrigued.  Having discovered a little of the beauty and complexity of Azerbaijani music, I purchased an Azerbaijani saz; but then, just as my journey of discovery was beginning, it was time to leave.  My heart was full of unresolved questions and dreams as I boarded the airplane back to my home country.  

These questions and the desire to return have not faded with the passing of the years.  Instead they have crystallized into one goal; that of returning to Azerbaijan and studying Azerbaijani.  In my heart, I desire to drink tea while listening to the old men’s wisdom in a tea house in Baku.  I want to hike snow-capped mountains of the Caucasus with my wife and daughter.  I want to listen to the poetry of the musicians with comprehension.  I want to talk freely with the barber in his shop and gain a new friend.  In my memory, the images of tumbling pigeons in the wind, and the lilting, soulful call of the singer beckoned me to return.      

With my background in teaching English as a foreign language, I also realize that there may be further opportunities to teach English in Azerbaijan.  I know that my teaching would be greatly helped by a full understanding of the Azerbaijani language and I am committed to studying the language for at least two years towards that end.  In addition, my wife and I also share a love of music, and together we are very interested in studying the local forms of Mugham and Ashik. This will be impossible without first learning Azerbaijani.

To conclude, after several trips to Azerbaijan, I am very eager to study at the Azerbaijan Language University in order to learn the Azerbaijani.  This opportunity is one for which I am deeply grateful, and I hope that through the careful instruction of the respected staff of the Azerbaijan University of Languages I will be able to reach my goal.  

Coming from Iran, we knew that we wanted to go out and explore more of what our country has to offer. We chose to study the Russian language because it presents a vast array of career possibilities and the Baku Slavic University is the best place at the region to implement our idea. Here, we're constantly surrounded by a diverse group of inspiring people that gives us a great motivation to continue. Moreover, the whole Baku city is quite international, so Russian is not only the language of the study but the language of communication as well. Students who want to study at Baku Slavic University should be willing to be tolerant and open towards many different cultures, since it is a wholly international University. If students are open, they can experience many new and positive aspects of studying and living together with people from many countries.

Baku Slavic University is a place that genuinely fosters intelligence and self-development. The opportunities available to students are limitless. I will finish my study in the field of international relations with skills and knowledge to ensure a strong start to my career in Azerbaijan and abroad. Also, Baku is a great city, so this factored into my decision too.

The decision of studying outside my country was one of the most challenging and tough decisions of my life. I wanted to see the world, experience a new country with a different culture. 
I chose Azerbaijan as a destination to continue my studies. People in Azerbaijan are very hospitable, and they always try to help foreigners if those have any difficulties. Here I started learning a new language and experience the culture of Azerbaijan – its food, customs, traditions, and social life. 
Baku is a big city and has many options available for foreigners in terms of housing and transportation. Prices of transportation and housing are low in comparison with some other countries.
 

Hello! My name is George, and I'm a student at the Azerbaijan State of Oil and Industry University.
Four years ago I came from Syria to sunny Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is a fantastic country with a rich history, centuries-old  traditions that are still stored by the  residents of this beautiful city, unique  nature and architecture. The opportunity to study at Baku allowed me to get a decent education, make new friends, meet  highly qualified specialists. From  the first days` teachers, knowing that I am a foreigner, provided me with all kind of support, taught  Azerbaijani and Russian languages. Classmates always tried to help. Yes, at first it was difficult, but now I can say with confidence that the time spent here is the best time in my life.
For four years this city became my home, it is like a family that will always accept you as  you are, Baku is a great place to study and  having rest, and just for life. Every day tourists  from different countries come here. The education received at our university opens many doors  for the  graduates. Here is one of the  most demanded in the world labor market  training areas that significantly increases your competitiveness!
 

I have been to Baku for five weeks and every day is a new adventure!
Baku is a beautiful city with a lot of different sides and possibilities to fill up my free time. I live with other three European girls in a dormitory, and it is nice to discover new things every day! 
Azerbaijani people are amiable and helpful, and I´ve never felt alone within the last weeks. The situation is the same at the University of Languages too.  I have received much help whenever I had a problem. Even though many people do not speak English very well here they try to help me anyways. It was surprising how fast my classmates opened their friendship circle for me.
Attending the courses at the University is very interesting for me, because the educational system is different in Germany. However, the teachers are more than willing to help! Sometimes it is hard to be always on time, but I am trying! 
I chose AUL because I wanted to discover a new culture and improve my English. That´s I decide to apply and I got a place and scholarship after waiting for some months. I would like to encourage anyone is interested in this programme to apply. I am sure there is a chance for them! 
Baku and the regions around it like Gobustan and Guba are fascinating and wonderful places for foreign people to visit, discover excellent food and get to know traditional Azerbaijani life. 
 

Azerbaijan is a multicultural country that promotes harmony, tolerance, and peace.  I enjoy living and studying in Azerbaijan and here are the reasons: the local food is delicious, fruits and vegetables are very cheap (so you will always have food with the lowest money in your pocket), people are so friendly (even though I cannot speak Azerbaijani they still help me very well), you can travel to many different beautiful places in Azerbaijan. For the houses, you can share with your friends or choose dormitory as a primary choice. 
So, what are you waiting for? Come study in Azerbaijan, a beautiful multicultural country with rich history and traditions!
 

My husband and I, we are studying at Baku Slavic University together. It's about 3 years here, and we can honestly say that choosing this University was the best decision we have ever made together (aside from our marriage, of course and that is not an exaggeration. 
The University program requires a lot of concentration and self-study as well.  However, the professors give us enough time to develop these skills.
As the head of the BSU International Students Club, I advise future students to participate in all social, sport, and cultural events and activities.  
Apart from that, Baku is a beautiful multicultural city with amazing sights and history. There are lots of things to do and places to see in Azerbaijan and neighbouring countries such as Georgia, Russia, and Iran.  I highly recommend this city to live and Baku Slavic University to study.
